1. Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to everyone who uses waitingroom.ca or books a session with a therapist at The Waiting Room. By using the site or booking a session, you agree to these terms.

2. Who we are

The Waiting Room Online Therapy is a practice of independent Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying) providing virtual psychotherapy to clients located in Ontario, Canada.

3. Not a crisis service

Our services are not intended for emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call 911, go to your nearest emergency department, or contact 9-8-8 (Suicide Crisis Helpline).

4. Eligibility

You must be located in Ontario at the time of your session and be at least 16 years old to book on your own. Clients under 16 need consent from a parent or guardian.

5. Booking, fees, and cancellations

• Session fees are shown at booking and charged through Jane App.
• Same-day appointments cannot be booked online.
• Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows may be charged the full session fee.
• Insurance receipts are provided after each paid session.

6. Therapist–client relationship

A therapist–client relationship is only formed once you have completed intake and attended a first session. Information you send through the website, contact form, or chatbot before that point is not confidential clinical communication.

7. Acceptable use of the website

You agree not to:

• Use the site in a way that breaks Canadian or Ontario law.
• Try to access accounts, data, or systems that don't belong to you.
• Interfere with the site's operation or attempt to reverse-engineer it.
• Scrape, copy, or resell our content without written permission.

8. Intellectual property

All text, images, logos, and design on waitingroom.ca are owned by The Waiting Room or used with permission. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use.

9. Third-party services

Sessions, booking, and payments are delivered through Jane App. Analytics are provided through Google Analytics and Google Ads. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms and privacy notices.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The website is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Waiting Room is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, including for negligent professional services.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of Ontario.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Updates take effect when we post them with a new "Last updated" date above.
